The owner, Mary, is a wonderful lady. She made us feel welcome and served some terrific, traditional New Year's food. The atmosphere was old school....we will return!

Best bar in the state. You won't find any better prices, drinks, and the food is awesome. A good ole country bar that feels like home and they treat you like family.

Was having a pretty rocky day and saw the cute and kitschy solar-powered figurines lining the windows of Mary Janes...there were so many, I thought they must have them for sale. I wanted something to drink, so I wandered in. Immediately, I could see their inside shelves were lined with beer bottles, cans and taps. Several people said hello. A man..a customer..asked if I wanted something to drink. I asked, “Whatta ‘ya got?” “How ‘bout a beer?” So the customer offered to buy me any beer that I wanted, and I chose Coors. The crowd was friendly and welcoming, I sat down and drank my beer with them, and in the 30 minutes or so I was there, we shared our stories. After that, I didn’t feel so down anymore; I was offered a second beer that, unfortunately, I had to refuse because I was driving...but also some candy and snacks by other patrons. So unexpected... so kind...and a memory that will stay with me and make me smile. If you find yourself at or near Kemper Station in Lynchburg, DO visit Mary Jane’s Cafe. You’ll be glad you did.
