Marston Vale Millennium Country Park

Beautiful place to walk. I did a path around the lake and it was nice with changing scenary. You can walk down to the water at some points and there benches to rest and enjoy the view. The car park is paid 1 hour 1 and 3 hours 2. Has the facilities and a bike hire, which would be awesome to do the next time.

The shop and centre are shut for obvious reasons but the park is still popular and there are lots of people still using it. Would be nice if the parking was free as it may bring in more patrons.

Nice place to take your daily exercise right now. Was a bit gloomy but it was January so should be very nice in the summer.

Nice walk, bike or run with pretty views and lots of open spaces. Went for a picnic, sat at a large communal bench in the sun, lovely time had by all. Also a nice little shop for snacks!

Ever wanted to go try somewhere new? Well, I did. On first impressions, the Park isn't too bad. I had my bike with me. So, from start, parking wasn't too much of an issue but am get the feeling there isn't enough for parking for all visitors. Then, the issue of having to pay for parking on mobile. If you didn't have one, then you can pay using cash too. Online paying isn't too much of a problem for me, but for other generations? So, having all registered and paid up, I put my bike together and started exploring the Park. On initial perception, I was looking forward to it, the views, the lakes, the routes, and the large wind-turbine. In fact, the latter was the best element of this flying visit. Hearing the gentle whoosh-whoosh of the blades was hypnotic, and also seeing up-close the enormity of it. The views, the routes, and the lakes however was a little let-down. It was a very warm day, and I was looking forward to the cool breezes coming from the lakes as I'd cycled around, but alas no. Much of the waters edge was bordered by shrubbery and mounds, so be prepared for a lot of disappointment here. You can stop at the waters edge, but only if you were prepared to go off-track and through the shrubbery. In this case, walked with my bike. Though, I didn't visit the visitor centre myself, there were queue's for the WC. I'm not marking down on this element. Overall, it was a pleasant days visit, but can't help feel that this was a one-off as I'm getting the feeling that there should've been something more. However, I will visit again but not soon. Off to get an ice-cream...
