Bakkwa, also known as rougan, is a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat product similar to jerky. It is made with a meat preservation and preparation technique originating from China. Now, Bakkwa is very popular in Singapore and Malaysia where it is traditionally eaten during the Chinese New Year when Chinese immigrated to Singapore and Malaysia and bring this delicious snack many years ago. I happened to find this Singapore style BBQ Bakkwa in the First Markham Place. It is a small shop at the corner where not easy to find. However, its BBQ Bakkwa should not be missed. I highly recommend the Seaweed Flavor(pork) and Sesame Flavor (pork). They are fresh and freshly grilled. They tasted sweet & salty, natural smoky, and with the special flavor of seaweed and sesame. They sale beef as well. BBQ Bakkwa should be the must-try Asian snack. Go and check it out!

A store specializing in anything jerky. Located beside eggette. The jerky is made fresh in house which contributed for the higher price. You can sample some before you buy. We bought the black pepper pork and spicy beef which were delicious. The price will vary by weight.

Wonderful jerky just like the kind we used to get in Hong Kong and Beijing. The best in Canada probably. They gave samples and the prices are as expected. The duck jerky blew my mind! I thought it would be fatty tasting, but it was rendered beautifully and had amazing taste! The pork and beef were also great and we must try the chicken next time.

They should be ashamed about the product they produce. Tried both the pork and beef jerky and wanted to immediately throw up. The beef jerky looks leathery and inedible while the pork jerky looks like dog food. Both taste like crumbly, wet, cardboard. I have no idea why anyone would rate their jerky more than 1 star but save your money, hope, and tastebuds
