I’m a long time HSBC premier client. I live in downtown Toronto and my home branch is York Street head office. I work during the week and the head office is not open during saturdays. I went to HSBC branch at 3636 Steeles Ave East and wanted to open up a RRSP account for my joint account holder last Saturday Nov 21. The senior premier manager Martin Ma 馬天宇 first try to discourage us to open up the account by saying the promotion for mutual fund has ended. I explained to him that we do not want to buy mutual fund. We only want to buy GIC. Then he asked us to contact our relationship manager whom is at downtown head office. I explained to him that we really would like to open up the account that day. My joint account partner did not bring her SIN and we made an appointment twitch him at 1pm Nov 29 the following Saturday. When we showed up on Nov 29 around 12:20pm he claimed our appointment was at 10 am. We are absolutely positive our appointment is at 1 pm. He said he is busy seeing his client and asked us to come back around 3:30pm. The branch closes at 4 pm and he later said his client might not even finished with this client by 3:30pm. We are very disappointed by the whole experience and after 2 weeks with appointment we still cannot get an account opened.
