Beautiful hike around and above the lake. 4000 acres of awesomeness

Good trails to run and a broad array of wildlife and fauna. Well maintained section of the Appalachian trail as well. Manassas gap shelter and a nice spring are located inside this area too. Theres is a fishing pond on the lower area and some streams.

The whole area needs a lot of work. Hunted there recently and saw a lot of illegal hunters. The lake is drained again and has been for the last two trout seasons. If you are planning a trip out here make sure you wear long sleeves and get ready to travel through thick underbrush as even the trails are becoming overgrown.

The new shelter by Duck's Dome on the Appalachian Trail is pretty spectacular. Don't miss it.
