Valentine’s Day dinner gone wrong so my wife booked Dinner reservation for the two of us at Mario’s place and she specifically asked for inside seating which we all know there is a pandemic going on but the person she reserved with told her she would seat us inside so we expected to be seated in the outdoor patio were there is string lighting well they decided to sit my wife and I in front of there establishment with homeless people walking by spitting on the ground looking at there customers eat so what is supposed to be a romantic night out with your wife just becomes disgusting my wife got all dressed up for what was supposed to be a nice outing wearing her Mink coat her expensive clothing and jewelry so my wife did not feel safe sitting out with homeless people walking by looking us up and down so we decided to leave before even ordering a glass of water as you know if you don’t have reservation made for this day you won’t get into any restaurant as a walk-in so the night was ruined so today we get a call from the manager from Mario’s place and he was just trying to give my wife every excuse in the book as to why they where not wrong never did he apologize to her once yet he was giving her a attitude over the phone so of course I got on the phone and told him unprofessional he was and I could not believe they run there establishment this way when you dine out and pay between 150-200 for a meal you should get great service and a nice atmosphere should come with it not being seated on the sidewalk with homeless walking by and cars driving by smelling all the fumes from there exhaust mind you we dined with them the year prior for Valentine’s Day and my wife liked it but now we will never go back I hope you don’t continue doing this to your customers because it’s just not rite.

I like Mario's Place usually when I go to Mario's I ordered the mushroom pasta with Italian bread it would be nice if they served soft butter to put on bread.. and I usually have a margarita Cadillac with my dinner. And I normally sit at the bar and get the same bartender each time. He knows me and he knows what I like. I also love the fact that they give you a real cloth napkin. Bartenders are very friendly and they have great live music. Now to be perfectly honest what I don't like about Mario sometimes they have double standards. What I mean by that I have seen many gentleman in Mario's with a hat on baseball hat. A certain friend of mine made a reservation and the reservation Clerk did not inform him that he could not wear a Kings hat and a nice one at that it was a dressed hat. And I was the one suggested Mario telling them about the food there. I have seen gentleman come in Mario with baseball caps t-shirts gym shoes. Also in their dinner room. So I would say to Mario's if you are going to stop some people from wearing hats you should stop all the customers from wearing baseball cap.. now I have tried their Pizza I really didn't like it poorly made. But the other dishes that I have tried there was excellent.

This restaurant is a staple in Riverside. It's been around for at least 30 years. Delicious and you'll never have a bad meal. If you like a good garlic Caesar salad there is no better anywhere. Located across the street from the valet Entrance of the Historic Mission Inn is a plus as well. BEST RESTAURANT IN RIVERSIDE.

Had dinner at Mario's to celebrate a special family occasion. As usual, the appetizers as well as the individual entrees were delicious and the service was excellent. We will continue to patronize Mario's and recommend it to others. I highly recommended this restaurant. Must try!

Celebrated my mother's birthday with family on Saturday before New Year's Eve. Placed reservation 3 days in advance. Sat on patio with a 5 pm appointment. Saw Chef Mario as we walked in to be seated. PROS: Consistent refills and bread service. THE 12 TO 18 MONTH AGED PARMESAN! Satisfying butternut squash ravioli. Well done bolognese spaghetti. Olive tapenade crusted steak. Butter with herb. Well mixed diet Roy Rogers. Knowledgeable and competent wait staff. CONS: Patio seating was cold with heaters blowing non-heated air. Ambiance was less upscale in the back patio. The scallop appetizer lacked cohesion. The vegetables on the side lacked flavor. Did not provide anything special to celebrate my mother's birthday.
