The food here was pretty good. My only real complain is the tostones. They were definitely the frozen kind. Tostones taste best freshly made straight from the plantain. Frozen ones fall flat and should only be used in emergencies. Prices were good for the amount of food served. One of these plates could serve two people. Not pictured is the roasted chicken. It had lots of garlic though, so beware if that’s not your thing. The “Arroz Imperial” has melted cheese on top of rice and shredded chicken; however, it also had mayonnaise which was way of an overkill. I’ll come back to this place, but I’ll skip the tostones and cheesy chicken rice.

Went to dinner last night for the first time here around 8:30/9 and me and my date were the only customers. Service took forever to get to our table and made us wait about 20 minutes after finishing our food for our checks. The food came out fast but I wasn’t really a huge fan of my entree (ordered the grilled snapper, which might not be their specialty dish which is fair). Not sure if I’ll ever come back.

My mom was Cuban, so I grew up eating authentic home cooking. I also lived in Miami for 30 years, hitting many Cuban restaurants throughout my time there. This is my second visit to the Cuban Diner in Marietta and I am pleased to report that I found a Cuban place that is as good as any in Miami thus far! The photo here is the breaded steak - bistec empalizado. I had it the with the sides I was used to from mom’s cooking - yellow rice and plantains.

The restaurant is clean and the food is good. But the prices are too high for the type of food. I am from Miami and Cuban food is not that costly no matter where you live.

Not only is the food delicious, the service is top notch. Elaine was our server and we were on a time schedule. She was able to get us our food quickly and we leisurely enjoyed our meal and then were able to quickly depart because she had our bill processed before we got up to leave. Better than her quick service, was how pleasant she was while serving us. No request we made was a bother to her. She made me WANT to give her a 50% tip! She earned it. WOW! I'll be back.
