Marco's On The Shore

Genuinely quite good. Food has a crunch to it. Is seasoned well. The fish has a good batter to substance ratio. Portion size a bit on the small side and the menu is lacking in actual options especially for a supposedly highly regarded fish takeaway. There's like zero viable side options. And no smoakie option. Like, come on there's fishmongers all over the place in that town. Strike up a deal. Aside from this, the quality of food is actually really quite pleasant. Would recommend if you're easily pleased.

Very possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. Drove all the way from Dunfermline after hearing good things. I hate to mention Anstruther, Marco's deserves to be help up in its own right, as it is 100% the better place. The only reason I mention it is its similarity of coming out the shop and being able to sit at the harbour, nothing better. For those driving electric cars or PHEVs like me, there are twin charging points from Charge Place Scotland in the carpark right outside.

Best fish supper I've had in a long time! Nice piece of haddock, crispy batter; chips just as I like them. Something that I thought was really good is that if you ask for brown sauce, the lassie disnae just squeeze it all over the fish like they do in most chip shops. She squeezed a wee 'puddle' of sauce into the corner of the container for the chips to be dunked into as and when required! Brilliant idea!

Great local business. Car Park is located nearby. Ice Cream place located next door. Takeaway is available by phone or online.
