Plants excellent and reasonably priced. Very good covid restrictions in place. Felt very safe. Seen other poor comments on hear and feel Owner justified as he has excellent signage about wearing masks and asking people to please not touch plants unless considering buying. I think if it was my business I would want everyone to wear a mask near me.

I agree with the others who have recently reviewed their visit to a nursery that is evidently well run, stocking a huge variety of quality plants and offering great value yet has a man who 'rules the roost' and lectures those who don't comply with his signs. We visited earlier today when few people were around and were lectured at length by a guy who believes that the government exemptions for people who can't wear a mask don't apply to his privately owned business when he was reminded that the 2010 Equality Act would render him liable to a 10,000 fine for discrimination. He was so assumptive and narrow-minded that intelligent discussion was impossible. All qualifying exclusions are not necessarily visible and should not be questioned as it contravenes data protection rules. For businesses like this customers will vote with their feet and tell others. We thought twice about giving this place further patronage but having travelled a fair distance we chose not to cut off our nose to spite our face. Mutual respect is important and whilst distancing is fine when it comes to insisting someone wears a mask when it can contribute to stress /anxiety or exacerbate an existing condition is out of order. The latest lunatic legislation (different to law if you bother to check the difference) requires shop workers to wear masks from Thursday onwards. Good luck to you all working in those conditions. We might just come back to check if you're complying with the latest legislation as businesses can be closed down. We felt sorry for the young employee who we asked if it would be OK as it was clear that he would be in trouble for his tactful response to our enquiry about the enforcement of the notices.
Please be aware of the angry and aggressive owner. I went to buy a Christmas tree and plant gifts.The man just shouted on and on for over three minutes in the most rude and abusive way. I was left in tears. I walked away from him but he followed me and kept shouting. He is clearly not aware that he is driving customers away. I left the trolley and went to Weaver Vale Garden Centre were I got lovely plants and kind staff.
My mother & father chose to shop here this afternoon, when the owner we was told called Eric who was very rude & obnoxious towards my mother for not wearing her mask even tho she was wearing her exemption certificate around her neck, obviously he isn’t aware of the equality act of 2010 & also not aware of the governments website of face covering guidance. He approached my mother with such aggression in front of other customers shouting loudly in the shop and my mum left very upset & embarrassed She then left and went in to weaver vale garden centre who were lovely & when my dad mentioned about the experience she told my dad how known he is for his aggressive rude behaviour towards his paying customers You only have to look on the reviews to see how he treats other people. All the good reviews you may read will be from the customers who luckily hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting him How disgusting to treat people with an abusive manner and humiliate them in front of other customers when you don’t know reasons of her exception for not wearing a mask We will be taking things further DONT SHOP HERE!!!
