I have been to Mar i Terra a few times. I’ve shown it to some of my friends too and I have always had a wonderful experience but last night it surprised me. I was at the fish market yesterday for my birthday dinner and I booked there because I absolutely love the restaurant Mar i Terra. The food is beautiful and speaks to the heart. However they were closing but I explained that I was there because of their beautiful food and it was my bday and they reopened the restaurant to serve not only myself but all my 20 guests and with amazing, delicious full of flavour food. I just want to say how grateful I am for the way you guys looked after us. I really appreciate it! I know you guys were about to close but you reopened and made beautiful food for each and everyone of us. You made my day even more special! Thank you Gracias! Obrigada! Tai

Don't be put off by the demure exterior. We thought Mar Terra was closed but we double checked and we were glad we did because we had a great meal there. We ordered quite a few stew style dishes like the fabada and the conejo. They were so good that we ordered 2 extra baskets of bread to dip in the leftover sauce. Mar Terra has Spanish waiters, adding to the authenticity. I would definitely eat here again.
Close to theatres and Tate Modern, tucked away, this is a delightful little restaurant with a warm ambience. Lovely to hear Spanish spoken and very good service from the staff. Food delicious, the meatballs flavoured with cumin, almonds and the chickpea dish were highlights along with a chocolate mousse to die for. But the main draw is the busy, friendly atmosphere. You need to book to be sure of a table. Will definitely be visiting again
4 out 5 because the food was stunningly tasty. Almost a 5, because unfortunately the staff was not communicating very well in English. But overall a good experience, lovely locations near the Thames and Southbank area, good price for tapas quality.
Food Quality Service Ambience Price Wanted to have some tapas on a double date with friends. The food was actually pretty good and has that homemade taste to it. Best dishes were the croquetas de jamon, the rabbit and the beef. We also tried sone seafood but it wasn’t as good as the meats. Wine was pretty good too but nothing out of the ordinary. Service was mostly in Spanish which could be a good or a bad thing. Attentive and quick. The restaurant itself is pretty plain. No character. Just an old pub repainted and with very bright lights on. It didn’t express any atmosphere at all. Second bad point was the pretty high prices considering what the overall experience was. We had around 7-8 tapas, 2 bottles of wine and 2 desserts and it got easily to around 45 per head. Not sure it was really worth it..
