Food at Tashkent mart is as good as it gets if you are into Central Asian cuisine which I am very familiar with having spent my childhood in Tajikistan. I've tried Uzbek and Tajik food at many restaurants and Tashkent mart is at the top of the list in my book. Everything at this cozy little place is great, you won't be disappointed. To my immense happiness, I learned that they also bring seasonal fruit, like the famous Uzbek melons. If you've never tried them, they are an absolute must-try. Uzbek melons are what every melon should taste like. They are pricey, but worth every penny. They are queens of melons. Sweet, aromatic, juicy and so tasty. They put all other melons to shame. We bought three today, one is almost gone by now. I am so happy we have found this place. It brings back memories of my childhood. P.S. The owner is very kind, friendly and super customer-focused.

The food is delicious and very authentic. The owner is a very friendly and nice man. The prices are very reasonable. Wish you guys were closer to us, we would visit more often, but we will be coming back again no matter how far you are. Samsa and chebureki are my favorite at this place. Get them while they are super fresh, you can pre-order. They will be dripping juices. I eat them in my car while they are fresh. They are best that way but I love them any time, any way. Try the vegetarian samsa too. It's so good! Plov (pilaf) is outstanding. A must try. And so are beef ribs and lamb shanks. Tandir chicken is fantastic. Kebabs... I am salivating just thinking about all those goodies. The salads at this place are also very, very good. Malika salad is so good. For dessert, get some chuck chuck. It's delightful. Love it. Edit Nov 5 2020 - You must try those Uzbek melons that Tashkent restaurant has when in season. Those are absolutely the sweetest and the juiciest melons in the world. We bought a couple to try and went back for more. And while you are there, grab some white cherry and apricot preserves. Those are nothing like you will ever find at your local grocery store. The amber liquid is like maple syrup but not as sweet. Pour some on your toast/baguette/sourdough bread and have with your tea or coffee. Delicious! Edit Nov 8 2020 - Try the fruit kompot, my kids are crazy about it, and so am I. Peach kompot is our kids' favorite... I love feyhoa kompot. So good!

Delicious food! Chebureki, samsa are always so good that you can't stop eating them. The meat filling is plentiful, tasty and very juicy. A must try. Eat them in the car before they get cold:-) Obinon (flatbread) are a must try as well. Plov (pilaf), salads, chuchvara, manti... everything is a must try:-) Hard not to love well-made Uzbek food.
