Great church that is free to enter. Some original frescos are left after the building was damaged.

A beautiful creature of a true style. Must see in the town.

Wonderful monument of medieval culture and architecture. It was the burial place of local aristocracy. Alas, church was badly damaged in 1944 when it was bombed by Allies. Fortunately some frescoes of XIV century survived and you can find them in the last Chapel on the right hand side. Admission is free but any donation is welcomed and highly appreciated. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light.

Una bellissima chiesa, ho avuto di parlare con un francescano sono rimasto colpito positivamente dal suo modo di fare, trasmettendo pace ed amore. Mi hanno gentilmente detto che potevo fare le foto. Allora interno ce anche un parcheggio ma nei pressi si trova anche il capolinea di autobus. È facilmente raggiungibile. Il posto è molto bello e porta una grande pace interiore. Fuori nella piazza si trovano diverse attività commerciali tra cui bar e ristorante. Chiesa da visitare.

La costruzione della chiesa conventuale di San Francesco risale al 1304. Gli austriaci soppressero la chiesa nel 1782 e la trasformarono in arsenale nel 1811. Dato l'uso militare dell'edificio, lo stesso fu devastato da un bombardamento aereo nel 1944. Fortunosamente la Cappella Gonzaga si salvò e con essa preziosi affreschi del 1300, recentemente restaurati, raffiguranti le storie di San Ludovico d'Angiò.
