Am glad we got here though we couldn't go in. The sanctuary is closed between 12:30-3:00pm. Great atmosphere and lovely scenery.

Quiet and prayerful place. The monk gave a talk about the veil and explained some of the exhibits, was made to feel welcome. Closed between 12 and 3 pm. Well worth a visit for pilgrims.

This church is located in a small, obscure town in Manoppello. It is famous for containing the Manoppello Image, which some had argued to be the Veil of Veronica. Whether it is true is up for dispute. But I was surprised that this shrine can attract bus loads of pilgrims on a late Sunday morning. It is free to enter, and there is a small museum upstairs with some exhibits.
