Got my soul mate via them many years ago, the legend that was Murray. They do simply amazing work and need all the help that people are happy to give, they also have another site which I think is more rural and they help rescue horses and donkeys there amongst others. When all this madness is over I am going to visit the sanctuary in the hope they can find me Murray no2 or Maraid I'm not fussy.

i love the animals in distress sanctuary, they really have a passion to help animals, and they are so kind and helpful. i got my special boy; shadow [or as i call him, mr shadow;to show him we all know he has masculinity-yes im mad] from the sanctuary and they kept him on reserve while my care facility gave the ok, and he is now my best friend in the world and also my support cat as i have classic autism, learning disability and epilepsy amongst other things and mr shadow will sit on me when im having a seizure or touch me softly if im having one of my moments. i feel like the sanctuary has given me a life line,mr shadow has cooled my behaviors and stopped me getting into trouble. i also have a rabbit from the sanctuary,i dont know if she would apreciate me using her name on here so i will just call her the rabbit lady and she bonded my fiesty lion head binky with linda [now called luna],she didnt want anything for it she is a very passionate rabbit lady and i think she is an amazing woman along with the other staff. so i recommend the sanctuary,if you are wanting to rehome an animal or offer yourself for voluntary work, they also appreciate help with food to, my dad has dropped off huge loads of unused unopened cat food before as his own cat is a fusspot.

They advertise on their website that they help birds, squirrels, hedgehogs and lots of other animals. I phoned up as I had an injured wood pigeon. I was told that they only rehome cats and dogs. I questioned why they stated on their website that they care for other animals and was told that they I'd have to take the pigeon to a vet. Why are they advertising on their website that they help most animals? Is it just donations they are after? I have now taken the pigeon to a proper sanctuary in Bolton. They are operating under the same conditions as everyone else due to the virus but they took the pigeon off me for treatment and never tried to get me to take it to a vet.
