I took my beautiful Omega watch in to have an extra link put into the bracelet strap. I supplied the link and Omega pin for the job. The so called jeweller (Keith, I think) said it was a very tricky job but that he’d have ‘a go’ , and I left the watch with him, returning later so collect it. Paid 7.95, fine. A couple of days later I noticed that the watch was extra loose on my wrist and it fell into my hand-the newly added pin having fallen out. I could easily have lost my watch which I paid 2500 for. When I return to the shop to get the pin replaced and get the watch wearable again, the so called jeweller was extremely rude and indifferent to the fact that he didn’t do his job properly and I could have lost my watch. This time I watched him replace the pin which he hammered in with the metal end on his hammer scratching my steel bracelet. I was horrified and asked him why!!! He said it had to be hammered in firmly which was unacceptable and not necessary. I couldn’t believe it when he said “not every jeweller let’s you watch”!! Of course I watched, I wanted to see that he did it properly. In the end it took him seconds to hammer the pin in and scratch my watch without so much of an apology. To the so called jeweller I say that I don’t appreciate your cavalier attitude and ineptitude. Don’t take anything special here if you value it.

Really great and lovely staff. Very helpful to me. Will be returning.
What a beautiful shop and friendly service! I found my perfect heart-shaped gold locket here. So nice to buy some jewellery with a bit of history. I'll be back!
Left my Mondaine swiss watch here for first battery replacement and went next door for coffee while assistant changed battery. Assistant came to cafe and told us that there was charge still in the battery and the watch mechanism was faulty. He confirmed they could not repair it and there was no point in taking it anywhere else for repair as all that would be done is that a complete replacement mechanism would be installed. Why not buy new watch from us? This is a 280 watch which I have owned for about 2 years. Searched on web and found watchmaker licensed to work on Mondaine watches. Locker, Hull & Thornton Ltd. So forwarded watch to them. This was their reply: \Back quite scratched at opening point. Glass scratched. Movement is not faulty as such - person who tried to replace battery did not do so correctly and negative insulator has been lost. Fingerprints and dust on movement. Service recommended at 64.74\ Returned to Goldsmiths who denied any responsibility. John Malvern
