Really interesting collection of militaria ranging from medieval to present day. Not that many really large pieces, but what is of real value is the fact that so much of the collection is locally sourced from around Essex. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful collection of military items. From Armour to current uniforms, covering all aspects. Military arms from Swords to guns. Tanks and Heavy artillery as well. There is a spy collection as well. A really worthwhile visit.

Took my Grandon son who is 9years old. It was very interesting for old and young. Had a good couple of hours looking round. Good value for money Staff also very very helpful.

Loved it. Something for every age group. James Bond memorabilia, every shape gun imaginable, even a mother of pearl one. Grandad dressed up with one grandson, my granddaughter was fascinated by the secret gadgets, poisons and antidotes. A choice of questions for the youngsters with a tiny reward at the end for correct answers. Even a couple of vending machines near some bistro tables and chairs. The gentleman on the welcome desk gave a great intro to the founder of the museum as well as historical facts. Parking easy and the family ticket was excellent value

For military enthusiasts and non enthusiasts, this private museum is a hidden gem in Essex, from medieval to modern, weapons ,suits of armour, swords, cannons bombs ,uniforms through the ages, and real james bond spy equipment, not film props ! Staff very welcoming and informative, wheelchair users have access to all levels plus toilets. This museum is up there in my opinion with the imperial war museum although small it's like a tardis .
