Visited back in Feb before the lockdown. This museums is all about Islam and Islam in Melaka and Malaysia. The museum is over 2 floors. The first floor covers basics of Islam and what it means to be a muslim. The information covers the basics with a little more depth, which made it a more interesting. There were even some exhibits on Islamic designs and what they represent e.g the architecture sculptures that adorn Islamic style buildings. The second floor was quite boring though. It does go into more depth about the organisation of Islam, important Malaccan religious people and religious education in Melaka. Something I imagine would only be of interest to a muslim and even then maybe not. Overall, I learnt a little bit more about Islam, so that’s a good thing.

Easy to find the place! I recommend to upgrade the equipments showcase and may also make a better new look. Avoid the gloomy area as this is Islamic Museum thus should be more interactive for people to come over. Thanks!

An interesting and uncrowded museum in a beautiful building. Nice and quiet away from the crowds. A peaceful way to spend an afternoon and learn more about Malaysian Islamic practises.

Its nice to visit there to see the laws prviously implemented by muslims, the sword of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W namely zulfiqar is really worthy to seen there. There are also some gold items used by the previous kings of various different parts of the world. Melacca is the historical place and this musem exist in the middle of Melacca city where you can enjoy the cruise as well. You can also visit so much church nearby. The establishment of the Melaka Islamic Museum aims to make it a center for collecting, researching, conserving and exhibition of Islamic-oriented materials in line with the role of Melaka as the Center for the spread of Islam in the archipelago and the development of Islam in Malaysia today. The Melaka Islamic Museum is housed in the old building of the Melaka Islamic Council (MAIM) Office, Jalan Kota, Melaka. The interior design of this museum is based on a glimpse of the beauty of Islam in Melaka and Nusantara by illustrating the combination of Islamic artistic identity globally and Islamic art in Nusantara especially Melaka. The exhibition and information delivery methods are processed through eight main exhibition halls that are clearly in line with certain themes. This is to make it easier for visitors to understand the message, historical journey and experience they want to deliver. Among the exhibits on display are the earliest replica of the Quran, the history of the mosque, the replica of Rasulullah S.A.W sword. Entrance fee for adult is RM3 while children and students with ages from 7 to 12 is only about RM2. Operation hours is from 9 am to 5.30 pm but closed on Monday.
