Kind and helpful. A great support for me.

Social Distancing in place. All changed in there now. Hard to adjust to changes due to having Autism.
I was fortunate enough to be allocated counselling sessions of which I attended 2. However, I felt I wasn't quite ready as I wasn't comfortable addressing certain issues at the moment. I therefore, emailed my counsellor to explain & requested a break in the sessions to perhaps allow me time to be in a better place to discuss my problems fully. Unfortunately she never responded & just sent me a computer generated appointment for the following week. I then text her with the same message hoping she would get back to me, as I didn't want to jeopardise my remaining allocated sessions, as I was eager address my issues with her at a later date. I understand there are many people requiring counselling, but I was just requesting a delay in my treatment, as I don't feel ready at present. I feel very disappointed at the lack of support.
I attended a Mental Health Awareness course here a little while ago. There is no parking on site but easy access by public transport and a number of car parks within eady walking distance. The facilities were good and the staff (volunteers?) friendly and helpful. The course itself was professionally presented and varied with the opportunity for individual input and group discussion. An extremely rewarding experience.
I have been attending Mind for two sessions so far and I have been very impressed with the whole service. Each time I've been welcomed with a smile at the door and been made to feel fully at ease by all staff interactions. My 1:1 councellor Jerry is brilliant. He has already began to make me feel supported, cared for and he makes me comfortable when discussing difficult subjects. His approach has made me for the first time in my recovery feel more grounded and centered. I am already looking forward to my next session. Thank you.
