We visited the shop to view a rug found on the web site. Younes also showed us some similar rugs. We decided to try out 2 in situ. This enabled us to choose a suitable rug which we are extremely happy with. Many thanks to Younes for all his help.

This is the second time I have used Younis at Thames Oriental Carpets. Cannot recommend enough. First occasion we purchased three small bedside sized Persian carpets, in 2019. Today, Jan 2020, we have purchased a living room Persian carpet 8ft x 4.4ft. Superb quality. We were undecided on our first visit with 3 options, which Younis encouraged us to take home to try first. We returned with a favourite and again were given 3 further options. Not many, if any, places that will let you do this. Highly recommend a visit, hundreds of carpets in stock.

We have a valuable Chinese carpet which we bought in Hong Kong 35 years ago. We have had it cleaned around every three years. This is the first time we've used Thames Oriental, and I must say the result is far better than any previous company, and the cost is much more reasonable. I can recommend this company 100%!

Excellent service. Had a Persian rug left to me by my dad when he passed away- had not been cleaned for at least 30 years! This did not cause the company owner any issue or concerns. The rug is now beautifully clean and looks like it probably did new 60 odd years ago. Very very pleased with the result and the exceptionally professional and courteous service and at an extremely reasonable price. The shop itself holds some fantastic stock - well worth going to visit if you are contemplating a rug purchase. We enjoyed taking to the owner both when we dropped our rug off and when we collected. He is a very personable and knowledgable individual who knows his craft (which includes hand restoration work - we saw this first hand when we dropped by unannounced to collect). A gem of a find and we will definitely be taking another rug for cleaning and my mothers antique rug for repair.
