Mechanic's shortcut cost me 4,200. In August 2020, I took my Chev Silverado to Dean's Auto Care in Sundridge as it was leaking transmission fluid. I look after my vehicles and had used the company before. I paid for new transmission lines, clamps and fluid as noted on the invoice along with the labour to eplace\ the transmission lines. These lines are continuous metal, made to carry transmission fluid under pressure. Less than 5 months later the transmission seized and the truck was towed to a different mechanic who asked if I had worked on the lines myself. I was shocked to discover that sections of my old lines remained and that the new lines had been cut and clamped to the old lines with rubber hose. The fluid had leaked at the hose spllce causing the transmission to seize. The rebuild cost me 4,200. In my subsequent conversation with Dean he said the shortcut saved labour costs and was an acceptable repair and that a miscommunication had occurred. I had not been given an option to 'save money' by using a shortcut patch and I was not made aware that this was what was done. I had paid for new transmission lines and was lead to believe that they had been installed intact to replace the old lines.

My car recently stopped at the side of the road. With Covid, tow truck drivers are not taking passengers. Dean's offered to pick me up and take me home. They managed to squeeze me in during \winter tire season\ and got the part I needed very quickly. My vehicle was still under warranty with Nissan, but I had no way of getting to a dealership. Brittany called Nissan to confirm that I had all the info I needed to be reimbursed by Nissan. They picked me up so that I could get my car. I have used Dean's before for winter tire swaps and oil changes. I have always been very happy with their service. I highly recommend Dean and his crew!! Great bunch of people who truly care about their customers!!!

I recently had an issue with my car dying at the side of the road. With Covid, CAA policy is that tow truck drivers do not take passengers. Dean's offered to pick me up and get me home. They assessed the problem quickly even though it was \snow tire season\. The part I needed arrived quickly. My vehicle is still under warranty but I was not able to get to a dealership. They insured I had all the info I needed to be reimbursed by calling Nissan. The people at Dean's are an amazing group of professionals who honestly care about their customers. I highly recommend them!

We had some troubles with our car on a Sunday morning, unable to head back to Toronto. We called Dean, he accepted to drive 30km to open his garage for us, and fix our car. He saved us, with both professional skills and good heart. The service was perfect, irreproachable. I highly recommend Dean’s garage!
