They were friendly and took time to answer questions. For a small fee they will even come out to your property and look at the hive.

I love the products at Jones Bees but your website says you are open and your store sign says by appointment only. I came out during my lunch the other day and the door was unlocked but there was no one around. Please respect your customers time and be open when you say you will be open on your website. I really need some bees wax but I don't want to make another trip unless I know you will be open.

This is a great place for both beginner and more advanced bee keepers. I have always been able to order high quality hives from them as well as any of the beekeeping related equipment I may want.

Do not buy from these people. Seriously worst customer service. Go somewhere else!

My wife and I came to this store based on folks we talked to. We were told that it would be the best place for us to continue our hives in Salt Lake. (We just moved in from out of state). Upon our arrival we were excited to expand. The kid that was tending the store did not greet us, sat on the desk looking at us and didn’t say anything until I acknowledged him. We blew that off at first. Typical teen. As we were looking around, I heard my wife talking to him and then she showed up next to me and told me he was being cocky. I then asked him a question, if they had anything to help deter Wax Moths. (Our friends were having a tough time with them, and we knew that the hives were weak and needed help). The kid said; “Yes, a strong hive!” The delivery of that answer was condensending and came from a complete Jackass. At that point we knew that it was time to leave and we WILL NOT Return. If this is family run, it’s time to train the younger ones to be more polite and professional. I certainly wouldn’t have this individual in my business.

I have been getting bees from Jones Bees for a few years now. They have some of the most friendly staff and best customer service that I have found. Other places just turned me away or had no experience when it came to bee keeping.Every time I have had a question they have always been there with an answer, or even offered to visit my hive if needed. And as a beginner bee keeper trust me the help was well appreciated since I had no clue what I was doing. This year when I got my second batch off bees, we found the queen was dead. So Jones Bees Co. sent one of their employees out to my house free of charge with a replacement. And since we live in the Uintah Basin, it was not a short trip for them, but we really did appreciate it. Thank you Jones Bees Company for all the help and support that you have given us. We started out with just one hive a year ago and now are getting ready to add our third hive this weekend. We highly recommend you to everyone who wants to start bee keeping, and even to those who have been doing it for years and are looking for supplies or advice that they can not find anywhere else.

One of a kind establishment. Everything bee related, for beekeeping, candle making, honey, etc. Seems to be mostly family members as staff. They seem like good natured folks, but I can confirm what others have said: the customer service, while ultimately helpful, can be bizarre, surly, or aggressive. Prices are not the lowest. Beeswax is 10/lb, which is significantly more expensive than many online retailers, and the wax I purchased today was so dirty that a small portion of it was unusable. Bee that as it may, I will return here periodically if only for the stories.
