Great place to eat! Got the baleada for lunch and it was very delicious! Took home a homemade donut and tres leches cake for dessert tonight, can't wait to dig in. Staff was super nice and the service was wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

Breakfast take out 1/9/2021. Online ordering was easy and straight forward. Food was ready in 20 min. Order was well-packaged and pick up area was well organized and right inside the door. Appreciated the coffee had lids taped & plugged and was in a carrier. Breakfast burrito was delicious and just the right size. Chocolate croissant was really good as well.
I never leave reviews but Monona Bakery and Eatery is just too amazing not to. Everything we've ordered is above and beyond expectations. I ordered a birthday cake (carrot cake) in April and it was beautiful and one of the best carrot cakes I've tasted. We recently opted for breakfast delivery and our meals were warm, savory and delicious. Can't wait to try their lunch offerings!
My partner and I have been eating from Monona Bakery and Eatery for a year and a half. The staff is incredibly welcoming and kind. Food is fantastic and affordable, and they have vegetarian options. Awesome place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Additionally, throughout COVID they have been transparent and have made the needed adjustments to maintain safety. Just one example of the staff going above and beyond: We were in communication with an employee about having a custom cake baked. But then Monona Bakery and Eatery was forced to close their operations for a few weeks due to COVID. They let us know immediately, and referred us to a couple other bakeries in Madison. After they re-opened, the first order we placed with them they surprised us with a big (free) slice of Tres Leches cake (the kind we were going to order for the full cake) and a kind note!! We couldn't believe it! (also, the cake was delicious) Again, just one example of their kindness...
Wow. The food here is truly amazing. I came in with my family and most of us ordered the chilequiles. They were so good. We also got some of the baked goods to go, which were equally as amazing. Based on our experience, I don't think you could get anything bad. Plus, the family that runs the restaurant is incredibly friendly and helpful. Definitely come in here if you're on Monona drive.
