I’ve been to Machine twice recently - to repair a puncture and today to sort an issue with the gears on a newly purchased bike, which I bought elsewhere. On both occasions the guys were super polite and helpful and were able to do the work on the spot. With the new bike, the mechanic took the time to explain the issue and took the bike for a test ride. Happy to recommend Machine to anyone who’s looking for a repair or service.

I can’t believe my experience given all the glowing reviews, but here we go. I came in with a problem about my gear not changing and I was hoping to get some specialist opinion on it. The mechanic (?) hasn’t even looked at the bike and named the price: 25 for gear service and 14 for two new cables. Was happy with the gear service price, but I didn’t understand where did the new cable suggestion come from. The bike is new-ish (10 month old, 500 miles, stored inside) and I was very surprised at the suggestion of 2(!) new cables. After a seemingly innocent question “why do I need new cables?” (mind you no inspection took place) I got a lot of attitude and within minutes I was handed my bike back and ushered out (no new cables - no gear service). It is such a shame, as I live locally and I would have loved for this to be my go to place. P.s. my new mudguard was pressing on the cable, as I found out in a different bike repairs shop 20 minutes after.
Really nice and helpful staff, he fixed the issue I had with my bike in 10 minutes and didn't even charge anything for it! Really nice local business
I have brought my bike in to have the brake system changed couple of months ago. They did a great job, very quick and efficient. I came back for a quick fix and it was done on the spot free of charge. Great indepent shop!
