No surliness here on my visit this morning. Very welcoming and helpful lady, lovely soft baps for the picnic lunch and good selection of beers to go with pizza from Pizza Box up the road this evening.

Popped in here to grab a cold drink on a hot day. My partner and I were served by a rather surly and obnoxious man who confirmed that we could pay by card, and then barked at us mid-way through transaction that they only accept debit cards, not credit cards. Left without a thank you or good bye, started drinking my bottle of sprite outside, and noticed that it tasted flat. Checked the date on the bottle and it had expired 8 months ago. Went back into the store and picked out a replacement but there was no apology from the rude server who just stared uncomprehendingly at us. I mean I know it's a corner shop and not the Ritz, but is it really too much to ask for in-date stock and basic customer service...?
Great little store that covers as PO, sweet shop, off license and ATM point. Worth a visit to be served by the wonderful Andrea...literally has a smile to light your world. Small, compact but everything you need in one place.
