Nice place to eat good Japanese food. Small room, so don't hesitate make a reservation. Nice list of sake choice and wine. 2 menus at night. 39 and 49 and totally worth it.

Food was bland and price was too expensive. Small servings too, was still very hungry after. The waiters were very nice though.

What a treat in the heart of the gastronomic capital of the world. Japanese cuisine at its best! Both lunch and dinner are done with the care and exceptionalism you would expect from a quality Japanese restaurant. It was a two for one special for me yesterday, meaning both lunch and dinner. For the record, I should take a picture of the menus to capture the actual names used. For lunch I had Tataki Don lunch special; this includes miso soup and an accompaniment. I paired the meal with a bottle of Kirin for good measure. The meal came out fairly quickly, about 10 minutes, and look rather impressive. The Tataki Don was beautiful; the hue of the raw tuna flesh, sprinkled sesame seeds, and strips of nori were appealing to the eye. The visual spectical did not disappoint my taste buds; fresh tuna, a hint of sesame, very mild/light vinegar from the rice. A well balanced dish, I tried a hint of soy sauce and only a hint...it doesn't need it and I would argue that it disrupts the delicate balance of the dish itself. The miso soup had it's typical cloudy essence with what looked to be a much fresher/lighter version of seaweed. The taste was not as intense as one would typically be used to. The accompaniment was well executed and very tasty. I'm not sure what it was, but it certainly was enjoyable...someone help me out with the picture. For dessert I chose the green tea cake...a touch of sweetness, as one would expect, dense texture, and subtle taste of macha. Google, if you're reading, can we break out the comments section for breakfast, lunch, and dinner...maybe sections for different reviews by the same person? It feels like I'm writing a book here! Dinner was the 5-course, plus dessert, degustation for 49. And it was worth every penny...a journey of delicate, fresh, and intricate flavors. This may require my laptop to write the rest of this review...stay tuned.

Looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant in Lyon? ToMo is one of the few 100% Japanese restaurants that you can go and enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner. Choices are limited for lunch as they favor fresh ingredients of the season. Other than set menus, the à la carte menu is also available for dinner. Reserve in advance as they are usually full. Still need further reviews

A high class restaurant. The food were hot and nice, but Oyako Don is different from the usual style. There's a variety of ice cream flavours(red bean, green tea, yuzu, black sesame, etc).
