Friendly & welcoming service. Food looked really nice. Only downside was a few different drinks & meals were off the menu. I ended up with my 3rd choice drink but did enjoy it. Dog friendly too which is always a plus.

Food was great but steak served in a pizza box? With a wooden knife and fork? You can imagine the carnage that occured! Bits of wet cardboard mixed in with peas, creamy peppercorn sauce all over a nice piece of steak! Anyway, we went back a few days later and we're back on plates! Peppercorn sauce made with actual cream!

This pub promised so much more from the menu and the way it looks from the outside. Parking was good (over the road from the pub) When we arrived, we were told we were at a table round the side, in the corner. Had to guess as there was no indication as to which table it was. Menus were sticky with food/drink, not the best start. There were two other couples in there at the same time as us and we all had the same experience really. When asked what the pie of the day was, there was no pie available at all. They had also run out of the rose wine I wanted. During this time, when others meals were being ordered, there were other things that weren't available. The chickpea and spinach curry was now a veggie masala. The chicken in peppercorn and whisky sauce was tasty, but uninspiring. A lump of chicken in a dish, sitting in the sauce. One of the chicken breasts was fine, the other was very tough. Chips and peas, very average. They then ran out of Merlot. Other tables were experiencing the same with things running out and in the end it was laughable. We've been to many other places and they were not running out of all kinds of things the way this was. Service was ok. All in all an average experience at best and one I wouldn't hurry back to repeat. This pub could be so much better and it was disappointing.
