Pete and Maggie were extremely helpful and dealt with my cat and kitten issues very quickly. Their facilities are clean and spacious for rescue animals as I was shown around on arrival. I had already asked the big national pet rescue organisations for help, without success. Many thanks for your help.

I found a cat who looked very poorly. I called up Pete and Maggie and I kid you not they were at the spot where I had seen the cat within 30 minutes of my call! Afrer knocking on doors locally it turned out that the cat had an owner and she was being treated for the illness she had. They gave the owner some friendly advice and left knowing that the cat was safe and happy! As well as this my family have adopted 4 beautiful cats from this shelter. They really do adore the cats and kittens that they care for here! All 4 cats of ours have been in perfect health, very well looked after and have all become very loved members of our family! Unlike other shelters where all cats are kept in cages, at this shelter they have a wonderful kitten run where you can go in with some of the cats that are up for adoption, give them a cuddle and a few treats to work out which kitten or cat would be best suited to your home. Cats are only kept in a cage if there is a good reason. Each cat is special to Maggie and Pete, so when you go to adopt they always want to be 100% sure that the cat you are taking home will be loved and cared for properly and this is how it should be. I will always whole heartedly recommend the Animals at Risk Shelter if you need help, or you are looking for a new family member!

The animal shelter is not only the cleanest animal shelter I've visited but is run by lovely selfless people who put the animals in their care first. its like paradise for the animals which I'm sure helps with the animals recuperation. Highly recommended.

Me and my Mum found a Hedgehog who appeared unwell at the side of a pavement so we called the shelter and were quite pleased that they were able to help and arrive at the area on such short notice as we weren't driving. At first glance we were told that the Hedgehog seemed fine, but they would have a more careful examination of him at the shelter. Very dedicated, professional and polite people who genuinely seem to care for animals.

This sanctuary is amazing and very clean, the grounds are beautiful, some of the cats are roaming around the sanctuary garden looking very happy and relaxed. The cats are very much looked after here. Pete was very helpful and let us spend time with the cats, there was no rush for us to decide which cat to take, Pete helped us make sure the cat was also right for us. we came home with a beautiful 10 month old cat which is settling with us well. I would recommend taking a look here if you are looking to rehouse a cat/kitten as the setting is perfect. Gill Wood
