Absolutely my favourite place to eat in the Lake District and would drive miles out of the way to visit this lovely independent restaurant. Fantastic quality food and reasonable prices in the perfect welcoming environment. Somehow manages to be ideal for everything from posh nights, to family supper, to stumbling in weary after a long day in the hills. DESSERT MENU TO DIE FOR!!

The only problem with the food at Lucy's is deciding what to have from the fabulous menu! Our meals were absolutely delicious and incredibly good value (early evening three course deal). With friendly staff and a great atmosphere, Lucy's is an Ambleside institution that fully deserves its reputation.

I'm glad to see Lucy's On A plate is still going in these challenging times. We spent a couple of New Year Eve's up in the Lake District and went to Lucy's on both occasions and the food and service were as great. Hopefully when things get back to normal, I do hope to get up to the Lakes and back to this nice restaurant.

Away for our first holiday in 6 months with friends and booked to come here about a month ago to make sure we got in! We have been before and love the personal touch on the menu-- see photo. At the minute they have cut outs of famous people on seats so they can ensure social distancing so again see photo to see who were next to us!! There are 3 different time slots due to COVID so we picked the middle one of 7pm which was a little earlier than we would usually have but understandable. We all agreed it was a beautiful meal and my duck was delicious. Gav was very vocal about his Lambshank Redemption Great service and good wine selection too.
