Charming as heck! When I can get a weekday off, I always grab breakfast here. Time stands still at Lucky's. The snaking counter allows for patrons to either enjoy Lucky's quiet company or strike up a conversation with a stranger. The food is cheap and tasty, but everyone comes for Lucky - whom is the host, cook, and server. Not a conventional eatery, but that's why everyone else is here. So, when you have a day off, come meet Lucky and some other San Diegans.

Inexpensive and chock full of character. Counter seating only. It has charm, quirkiness, and plenty of breakfast options. It's not the best breakfast you'll ever eat, but the totality of the experience and low prices make it worthwhile.
I used to love eating there when I lived in San Diego! The food was good, the prices very fair, and I loved how Lucky always told me \finish your toast \like a grandpa might do. I miss eating there, but I moved back home.
Moving to San Diego 13 years ago was one of the best things I could have done. But as a New Yorker, I missed eating the way I would back home. I love the simplicity of the menu, speed at which it is cooked and the man himself. Mr. Lucky. You come here because the menu is only one page and is straight to the point. Remember to have cash. No cards accepted, and enjoy.
Loved it. Nice, cheap, authentic little place. Old man gave us a whole bunch of gear too, a bottle opener, a calendar, free fortune cookies and an Italian almond chocolate cookie.
