Small, but the exhibitions are interesting. They are spread through two floors, each room is to a certain extent themed, prehistory, industrial etc. Photographs showing the town in earlier times are fascinating. Helpful staff to give some background to the exhibits. Small shop and second hand books at bargain prices.

A good little museum, has lots in a small space.very nice to be free,worth a visit and your support
Terrific little museum with some very impressive displays. Free entry but we would have happily paid an entrance fee. Thoroughly recommend.
