Lovely cosy cafe and gift shop. Great brunch and light lunch, fab cake. Ready parking nearby (small charge). Check kitchen times - lunch service ends before closing time.

Have to start off by saying I’ve been here prior to limited menu etc and always been pleased. Wanted to support a local business for lunch so convinced my sister to go. Unfortunately the limited menu was not varied but we ordered the jacket potato regardless, only to be told it wasn’t available (not ideal) but this wasn’t a massive issue. Then ordered the fish finger sandwich and the soup instead, sister received the soup in minutes but I didn’t get my order. In my experience, you receive meals together, if not, you are told yours is on its way... nothing. Just took payment at this point. I was then left waiting 40 minutes for said sandwich. This is a lack of attentiveness from staff to check in with customers, even customers were looking at how long I had been waiting. after I could not get anyone’s attention, I went to the till to say my sister had finished her meal and I still hadn’t received mine. Another customer who was with her friend then pointed out the same. We were told there was an issue with the fish finger sandwich button and order wasn’t communicated to the one person staffed kitchen.10 minutes later we both received the meals but the point of eating out together had gone. The sandwich was underwhelming to say the least and overpriced for what it was. My outing was cut short as had other things to do and didn’t think I’d be there so long. Wasted a lot of my time and money, and ruined a meal with my sister. Couldn’t find the exit. Was walking around. Staff chatting behind the till. Lady in gift shop then kindly informed me where exit was. By this point I’d walked past the staff at the till twice, no acknowledgement at all. Two stars given it’s a place I have enjoyed in the past. Sadly lost my custom today.

Wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautiful setting, homely and warm. Food and drinks are home made and of high standards. Fewer items on the menu due to current restrictions but still enjoyable.
