The crew at the Heitzman bakery has once again proved why they are the preeminent purveyor of pastry in Louisville. With expert help from Marguerite, my mother was able to send King cakes to all of the far flung members of our family. The cakes were as good as the best of New Orleans. Each was delivered in a timely manner and every recipient was very happy with the tasty pastry. Heitzman is always our first choice when we need the best.

I love Heitzman's. They have great baked goods, and everyone there is always really friendly. I love their cheese danishes, especially. I had heard that they were the best in the city, which is what prompted me to give them a try, and it seems like that was correct.

I ordered a catering order for my wedding which was to include utensils and plates. I got a confirmation email about a week out. The confirmation did not include utensils and plates. I called and told them I asked for those when I put the catering order in. They said no problem and it they will be provided. I called again 2 days before and confirmed everything would be provided. Then I get another email from them stating they feel the delivery time is too early and we should change it. I replied I would like then food at the time i requested. No problem, the food was there. However, they did not provide the utensils and plates as requested and verified 3 times. So one of my guests had to go buy the utensils and plates. Highly inconvenienced for a guest to have to do this. I can’t speak about the food as I ate very little. Guests enjoyed the food very much. I was unsatisfied with their service overall and will not use them for catering again.

I asked them to make 12 cookies for my daughters 7th birthday party. They were supposed to have a white pearl border around them and when I arrived to pick them up they had no border around them. I asked them to please put the white pearl border around them and referred to the picture I sent to them. They came out of the back with tiny white dots all on the icing of the cookie, like polka dots not a border. I included the picture with the cookie I wanted. It has a gold crown on it, I asked them to replace that with her initials in silver with a glimmer effect. I absolutely asked time and again for that border to be either candy pearls or a pearl looking border with frosting. I am disappointed in this place, because I have heard nothing but good things about them, yet they seem to not care about quality. I will not be using their services again for anything important. Another thing to be careful about was that they insisted they take my card over the phone for payment before they could proceed with my order. They had not yet charged my card when I arrived and had my card number and info out on paper for anyone to see.
