Strolled in at 15mins til closing on a Sunday (the day the Lakers won the championship!) for some late-night grubs/drinks, and I was not disappointed. Their shoyu ramen with pork was perfect! The pork is not overpowering/too rich, and the broth is light yet very flavorful, so much so that we slurped that whole bowl—a rarity! Also got a side of takoyaki (just the right amount of gooeyness and tender octopus); and geso age or deep fried squid tentacles (perfectly fried retaining great squid texture). Would definitely come back!

One of the best fried chickens I've had. I got the hot and extra hot and it's definitely a big drop off between the two. I eat a lot of spice but extra hot is a very comparable spice to mad dog 357. They spiciest flavor is the reaper which consists you to sign a disclaimer. The size of these chicken tenders are jumbo size so keep that in mind when ordering. The sliders were decent size as well which I recommend grabbing as well. Wait time was about 12 minutes upon placing the order.

Slurpin’ into 2019 with Hachioji Ramen in Little Tokyo! Newish place owned by the same dudes, just a few store fronts down, at one of the original ramen-yas in town, Daikokuya. Whereas Daikokuya’s famous bowl is the tonkotsu, Hachioji focuses on a Shio (salt), a Shoyu (soy sauce) and two Vegetarian options. Pretty solid authentic bowl here, had duck with the shio and chashu with the Shoyu, both tasty. Hachioji has a very Japanese decor, awesome Japanese staff, perfect karage (fried chicken), and unique Japanese imported beers such as their Matcha brew. 1st Street, and Little Tokyo in general, is littered with ramen spots now but this holds its own being that they do a different broth focus than other spots down there (i.e.,Daikokuya, My Ramen Bar, Mr. Ramen, Rakkan, Hakata Ikkousha, Men Oh, Shin Sen Gumi, Koraku and a grip of others). I’d take a step in if you’re down there. I’m headed back I think, I think ...It squeaks in at a 4 bowl rating out of the Elusive 5 BOWL RATING. #claysramengame on Instagram for LA ramen. #chopsticks #broth #chashu #tonkotsu #shio #shoyu #noodles #japanesefood #ramen
