I hesitate to review this place as I am not sure I want there to be more people who know about it! A hidden gem for sure. Always quiet, great place to ride a bike on road or paved trail, great place to run, and light car traffic in the park itself. If you park before the ranger station you can avoid the fee, and you are about 2.5 miles from the water at that point. Always see lots of hikers, dog-walkers, cyclists. Friendly community too. Love VA regional parks. Note: it is exceptionally buggy in the spring months due to it being a wetland, be sure you have repellent.
This is a beautiful park. Except for the sound of planes talking off from the airport, it is like being very fast away from civilization. I love it.
It is like a private park. Very quiet and very peaceful.
