The food was top class. The bakes were the best we have ever had and we know Trini food. Roti was great. Only improvement would have been a little more filling. The owner is so lovely and was so nice to the kids..giving them free crisps and a drink..every time we go there. Real nice family business and the food is real tasty. Highly recommend going there

I had the most unfortunate and unnecessarily bad customer experience at the Trinidad Roti Shop. I popped in to grab some lunch and simply asked for a paper bag to carry some of the food I had purchased home. The person at the counter - seemingly the owner of the shop - short lady, grey hair, in her 60 or 70's - seemed to take great pleasure in turning down my request. I explained I was on foot, and didn't really want to carry the food in my hand - to no avail. I was more than a little perplexed at the exchange. As a black person I am a great supporter of black businesses/ trades people etc, however it is hard to recommend a business that can't respond positively to a simple, polite, and reasonable request so they can save (circa) 2p... Black takeaway food businesses have had quite bad reputations in the past for their levels of customer service...but more recently, (in my experience), this seemed to be changing. Unfortunately this is NOT the case at The Trinidad Roti Shop... The food may be OK, but the attitudes towards customers is outdated and lacking in professionalism. I won't be returning. I would like good food and customer service for my money please. I wish them all the luck.

Drove all the way from Essex to get some real Trini food and wow it didn’t disappoint chicken, goat roti’s and the doubles were all excellent! Great staff and green seasoning to take home. Excellent and well worth the drive!

The overall presentation and taste was generally good. The curry wasn't ideal tasting but the meat and potatoes were well cooked and consistency was saucy. It made sense to eat with utensils rather than fingers otherwise it will be too messy. There's also no running water to wash hands.
