We had the most amazing plates of food sitting at the counter overlooking the chefs. The owner is passionate about the menu and you can tell that each dish has been carefully created and executed beautifully. The place was lively, fun and buzzing with activity and we will return with friends to try the plates we couldn’t manage on the first visit.

Wonderful. We were looking forward to reliving our memories and tastes of Sans Sebastian, the area the owner is from and the food is inspired by. The lady who owns it is delightful. The staff work super hard, (it was a particularly hot summer's night) and create a lovely atmosphere and customer experience. The food was gorgeous. You won't be disappointed. I urge you to try it.

Great Basque cuisine in a simple but nice set up. Located at the back of the market, Kova is a relatively new addition to the local Tooting Broadway food jewels, staff was lovely and efficient! Menu is about sharing (understand small portions) with tasty food and original mix up. On the flip side I was less impressed by the wine selection (only choices are basque as expected) ... not to my taste and haven’t tried dessert there (description was less appealing to us).

Having been to the Basque country a number of times, my wife and I love good tapas, as well as the Basque cider typical of the region, with a slightly sour, and generally more apple-y flavour than British varieties. The Basque country of course also has a fine tradition of both hearty and haute cuisine dishes. We found this place tended to the latter, and most guests will need three plates or more each, which could push prices up, although the owner was very keen to ensure we got good value for money, and insisted on giving a generous 'Eat out to Help out' discount. All the dishes we had were delicious, as ever with excellent use of salt and oils to bring out the more subtle flavours. The arroz negra was a standout dish, and there are lots of options for fish and/or meat lovers, and a less expansive, but still reasonable, range for vegetarians. This place feels like a real labour of love, so gets a solid recommendation in these difficult times.
