From our inception in the 1960s as a voice of liberation during African independence struggles to a thriving cultural hub for the UK's African Diaspora, we are now poised to speak afresh to people from our new home in Southwark, London SE1. Africa and its UK Diaspora need a meeting place where pioneering ideas can emerge and converge. The Centre’s unconventional spaces for successful events, in addition to our current gallery and collaborative workspace, ‘THE HUB’, already welcome people from the UK Diaspora and those from all over the globe to ‘A taste of Africa in London’. We continue our longstanding mission to inspire, challenge, enlighten and encourage through our five pillar mandate. Our new dedicated team is committed to preserving the Centre's unique heritage, while simultaneously exploring the capacity of contemporary African culture and industry to spur dynamic growth. We believe great things happen when people work together and want to build a community of members that inspire and help each other grow. Come and experience our amazing 2216 sq. ft space split across ground and mezzanine floors, boasting workstations, creative studios, lounge and meeting areas. THE HUB also has a vibrant and funky feel thanks to the great design work of British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori.
