The RNIB don't care about people losing their sight. I have told them to get involved in a situation which involves a GP surgery as my mother does not receive writing in large print or in an accessible format when she gets appointment letters. She is being excluded from her healthcare because she cannot see yet the RNIB say that if the GP surgery says she doesn't lack capacity and doesn't call to ask for them then that's her decision, as she cannot see the dials. How does this make any sense? How can this organisation defend that when that is a clause used for doctors to suit their own purposes. The fact that my mother is denied this aspect to be involved in their healthcare means that capacity is already being taken away from her as she is being kept unaware of what she can have. This is a ticket to neglect and worse and the RNIB should be ashamed of themselves for defending the self interest of doctors blindly.
