Known Richard Caplan and his staff for a number of years as he has moved around the piccadilly area over the years. He is a lovely guy. I remember he had a gold stype jaguar with a News of the world number plate around 2002/2003 time he was very fond of. In my eyes his always been the number one or one of the top dealers to buy all my leica gear from and is very knowledgable in his history and info on Leica which I still believe to be the best manyfacturer of camera bodies, lenses, binoculars and telescopes and eye pieces.

I found this shop when my camera failed on our sightseeing trip to London. They managed to get it to work in 30 seconds ...as if by magic. Very helpful expert staff! Fantastic selection of second hand Leica at surprisingly reasonable prices. I couldn't leave without buying a new toy.

I searched all over for a black and nickel Leica iii and found a beautiful 1936 specimen online at Richard Caplan's. I paid a deposit and collected it. It was in immaculate condition, as advertised. After running ten or so films through it, the slow speeds started to hang, as if the camera was in bulb mode. This can happen to 80 year old mechanisms. I posted it off and have just received my thoroughly serviced camera back. It's as good as new, all cleaned and lubricated, the speeds checked and the rangefinder calibrated and viewfinder cleaned. It's spotless. Proper service, very many thanks.
