Human Being

Spectacular views from One Tree Hill above and across Greenwich (including the Royal Naval College), the river Thames to Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf and the City of London. Where does it get its quirky name? It is said it derives from the Oak of Honor, a tree on the hill which marked the southern boundary of the Norman Honour of Gloucester & One Tree Hill was once a part of a much larger landscape called The Great North Wood.

Amazing view, better spot and much quieter than by the observatory.

Beautiful view point of the city and the Royal Naval College, within Greenwich park. One Tree Hill was visited often by Queen Elizabeth I, to admire the view and to write poetry. Definitely worth visiting when in the area! Do check out the fallen Elizabethan tree, 5 minutes stroll from here. Entrance is free, as it is part of the park.
