Should not exist. Time waster, inconvenience causer, Cardion housing 'supporter 'says it all.Recommended by Croydon council, Mark Fowler?, I did not require their services which were completely inadequate, wasted my time , unnecessary appointments, stating incorrect funding availability .

The person on the phone did not inform me that there was a limit of 3 phone calls.the issue discussed was a matter of Safeguarding an elderly person. Think that in hindsight, it was beyond her remit to contact Social Services. This has not gone well initially, as Social Services have triggered a situation which I intended to avoid. There are issues I have with Social Services as well. However.as empathetic as the person was on the phone, I really feel she was not experienced enough to do this, also she informed me that a phone call would be received by myself from Social Services on a certain day and date, which meant I had to leave the older person alone most of the day . Then that phone call was not received! Obviously this is not the person at Hestias fault, however, she seemed a bit naive as to how Social Services work and the implications of her actions... as the very thing that could have been avoided if I had been able to talk to social services happened. That the person I was accusing of neglect and Financial abuse spoke to Social services. Ths all happened within 3 days and then when I phoned the person at Hestia, she kindly informed me that they we were only allowed 3 phone calls. Basically I've been left over a weekend without ANY support or contact with Social Services as they finish at 4.30pm on Fridays! Sometimes, and this is not my usual view... well meaning advice and actions CAN and DO backfire and and have VERY SERIOUS consequences. I will follow this up with an official email to bring this to the attention of your Charity.

If I could leave no stars believe me I would because I stayed in one of their DA refuges with my two children from January - July. Prior to this I was at a fantastic refuge that supported me and my kids every day. I arrived at Hestia had one meeting and then that was it no support for the next 6 months. I felt alone, anxious and upset. Staff helped themselves to food donations before the residents did. Throughout lock down we were left to fend for ourselves as we were before non existent support. I asked my \support worker\ to do my housing application she told me it was lockdown she basically couldn't be bothered. I did everything myself and I had to help other residents who spoke English as a second langugae. Imagine how bad I felt they felt ten times worse. If you complain here they wont speak to you for days or make you feel bad for complaining, they lie to cover mistakes. They just do not care about the women. It is a hostel not a refuge for support.
