Our first meal out after lockdown and we had a fabulous meal as always at Gazette. Wonderful service, authentic French experience, and amazing food. Our favourite special occasion restaurant in Putney. So glad these guys are still on their feet and going strong.

I wish the restaurant has the option to share my experience at Gazette Putney to the restaurant rather than leaving my comments here without trying to communicate with them directly. The whole evening experience would not be as bad if the foods came out a bit better. We sat out side and waited a long time for everything from the moment we sat down, then presented the bill with full 12.5% service charge on top on the food and drinks bill were a bit greedy for not providing the service that we were billed for. Food was ok, meaning we could do better at home, then as previously mentioned above that we were left unattended most of our evening, and once our main courses got to the table, the steaks were almost throwing at the table on top of all the cutleries, at the point our dinner went from bad to unacceptable. Food was like warm, our two Steaks were not cooked according to what we asked for, and extra 2 for pepper sauce, which had no peppers in it, we were left hungry after two courses meals. We wanted to support our local restaurants as government intended, but having to experience this ill experienced does leave a bad taste in our mouth. We did express my opinion to the restaurant manager, but the reply was almost an attack for asking our main courses to be served. Not good. PS: I don't mind hearing from the restaurant, hope they have a better response than the service they provided us.

The only reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because of the waitress, she was lovely, incredibly apologetic and helpful. The food was cold, we went for Fondue which we were told was awful so we shouldn't have it... shame really because the restaurant is very cute, and it's a nice touch that the tables are chalk boards
