Traditional Kung Fu taught within a club that has been going over 40 years. The classes have a very broad range of ages and ability (from just started to 30 years of training). There is also a children’s class held on Monday which is well supervised with several adults. The teaching is excellent and individually tailored to the student to bring out the best of their abilities. Progression in the style is managed through learning increasing complex set patterns of movement. More advanced patterns include staff and sword. I’ve been training for several years and I'm physically the fittest and mentally the strongest I have ever been. I’m also 20 kg lighter than when I started. Would recommend.

I have been training in white crane under Richard's instruction for about 16 months. I've always enjoyed a variety in my exercise (running / boxing / military fitness) but began to have difficulties with these when I developed osteoarthritis in my hips, back and knees. Following two hip replacements I was a little stuck as to what to do next when I discovered kung fu. I now train several times a week and despite my condition have been able to progress well and am much fitter and stronger as a result. My pain levels are also much more manageable, bonus! I do the soft style suang yang tai chi which has helped build strength in my core and focus my mind. Hard style is a harder paced, challenging class but equally enjoyable. The club and instructors are friendly and it's always a good atmosphere. Kung fu is for you if you want to build strength, fitness, coordination and mental well being.

I started going to FWC Kung Fu classes about 5 months after having my second child, and within about 6 months had better core strength than ever before. The classes are a great mix of strength building and stretching whilst learning how to perform Kung Fu moves. I've been a member for just over a year and have never felt better.

I have been attending these Fujian White Crane classes for 3 years now and have found them to be easy to understand, and easy to get going with, but also really interesting and complex as you get further into the style. It's great fun, great exercise, and a very friendly environment, with people of all ages, ranging from complete beginners to proper experts!

If you want to get properly fit, learn a whole new way of approaching challenges while meeting lots of interesting people from genuinely diverse backgrounds, this is the martial arts club for you. You can train both hard style Kung Fu and soft style Suang Yang (a form of what is generally known as Tai Chi). As well as movement and form, the style focusses on developing core strength, flexibility and control. I have found the benefits of training FWC go well beyond just physical fitness. The club is really welcoming to new members with a range of convenient locations from which to train - our instructor Richard Wagstaff will also always spend time talking with and getting to know new members so take control and come along to class!
