Total rip off. Took advantage of my lack of knowledge to sell unnecessary item. Went in to ask for a USB charge cable for my android phone. Tried to sell me one for 15, then dropped the price to 10 when I said I wasn't paying that. When I asked for a cheaper one (5), he told me the 10 one was fast charge, would 'charge my phone in 45mins compared to nearly 2 hours with the cheap one' so I went for the 10 one. (When I got home my IT savvy partner told me it's the plug that makes it fast charge, not the lead). The shopkeeper then said 'why don't you let me change the cover on your phone too' as it was cracked, and tried to sell me a plastic one for 10, dropping it to 5 when I said I wasn't paying that. He then kindly took my smashed protector off and put the new one on, but it's such thick plastic it doesn't fit in my phone case and so now I can't text! Even despite me putting it under a book overnight to make the cover stick to the screen. Would go back but I live 3 hours by train away! Maybe I'm naive to the ways of High St market sellers but it makes me wonder how much he charges tourists if this is what he does to English speakers!

Bought a vape from this shop It was totally dead. I wasn't going to get a refund (since the shopkeeper there very cleverly asked for half cash and half card I assume so my receipt would only show half the value, something I didn't notice before I left), so I opened it up to see if I could repair it. The battery on the left is a real 3000mAh cell. On the right is what was inside, claiming to be 3000mAh. Also inside were massive pieces of foam to fill in the dead space, and wires running to and from the cell that looked like they were maybe rated for 5 amps if you were lucky. The thing wasn't working because a) the cell was dead and b) the connection looked like it had oxidized away. These wires were the main concern for me. Given that they'd be passing around 22 amps with the pre-supplied atomiser, this is a very real fire risk, given the wire runs past the battery. Nice of them to include flammable meltable foam surrounding the cell too, to make sure. I'm (usually) pretty careful when it comes to fake products. In this case I fell foul of my own rules and ended up with what was a pipe bomb just waiting to explode. I'm not even going to go back to the shop since the likelihood of getting refunded is slim and the value low. It makes me ridiculously angry though that such unsafe shit like this is available on the high street though. This is the stuff that gives vaping the explosive (heh) reputation it has. This is the stuff that'll blow chunks out of your face. Absolutely disgraceful. Don't give these people your money.
