Gem of a place just off the A4 in Chiswick. Glorious grounds and house. Lots of space with plenty of birds. Parakeets gulls and ducks. Caught the sunset as well, just fabulous. Coffee also available from a kiosk.

Surprising variety of trees. Just when you think you know your yews from your large cypresses you're caught out. My photos of the large knobbly tree with a moulded side view of what l interpreted as the March hare were actually a Montezuma cypressa. I had given it loads of hugs attempting to measure it's girth. I'm 5 ft 3 so six arms wide full ! Thankfully she did not exact any revenge on me for the unsolicited close contact. My granddaughter did ask me if l enjoyed my conversation with the tree and my answer was a resounding yes. The food kiosks were also appreciated. The flour less carrot cake was very noteworthy as we're the kids meals. It's a glorious park to walk around even in winter. Patrons are respectful. Some of the paths are too bumpy to navigate with a dodgy replacement hip which is still groaning after the extra exertion on the high sloping bridge .. Well worth a visit. Three generation endorsed rec commendation. species See of

Chiswick House and Gardens are great for families, dog friendly and have disabled access. There is a cafe and facilities, cafe serves lighter snacks and meals, kids menu and a good selection of cakes. The house is free to English Heritage members and is worth having a look at, the upstairs floor is very impressive. The grounds are great for walking and there are many walks and places to sit. There are many things to find on the map and some of the views are beautiful. Parking is separate to English Heritage and charge, however there are many entrances to access on foot. Also, bicycles are allowed on the grounds.
