Had a pleasant family meal here, prices were medium to high but they were large portions. We had chicken suya to start which was nice and flavoursome but they chicken wings didn’t seem fresh. Jollof and chicken stew for my main was ok but the rice seemed a bit crispy. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was delicious and the best part! Would return but only as a group to share items otherwise individually quite expensive.

First time visiting here and my first time experiencing an African restaurant. I did enjoy the food but they did forget about my main so I had to chase for it. I didn’t get to eat with my partner because by the time my dish arrived he’s would have been cold so I made him eat ahead. Service wasn’t too bad but felt the atmosphere could have been better. The restaurant was busy but it didn’t feel cosy however this could have been due to Covid changes.

Am a big fan of Nigerian food. This place has the best selection of dishes and everything I've tried so far has been very good. I would not recommend this type of cuisine to anyone that cannot handle spice or expect to get meat that is less than well done. The food is also not for the faint hearted. If you only eat the finest cuts this type of food is not for you. If you like your chicken gizzard and okra, get down there for some good eating.

Visited with my colleagues before our Christmas lockdown begin, we were warmly welcomed by a young smart guy who also took our orders. The food was sumptuous and our overall experience was great.

It is true that everyone deserves a second chance, this is the case for 805 restaurant. First visit was to celebrate a birthday. A call was made and a conversation with one of the front of house staff reassured our party that no reservations were required as there was an open door policy in place. Admittedly, our arrival was within the hour prior to closing time, however, multiple efforts were made to ensure the restaurant was well aware of our ETA (still we were advised and encouraged to make our way). Upon arrival, we were then told that service is closed and furthermore, the front of house staff in question denied the conversions 5 mins prior confirming our attendance. That truly spoilt a birthday celebration that had been highly recommended for this venue. A few days later, another attempt was made to experience the food and service of this restaurant. Needless to say, there was a considerable mark up in improvement. Great conversation with the gentleman at the front of house and the food was indeed great to taste. No doubt had the first experience been handled differently, 805 could have received a 4* and above. The food and conversation on the second attempt was the hit. I suppose third time luck would do the trick..? A good ambassador for African cuisine. **see you at the shrine**
