A public park with beautiful grounds, a bowling green and a new kiddies' playground. The mansion is pleasant and there's an interesting free exhibition inside. It's just a shame there's no cafe, although the mansion does sell a few drinks and ice lollies. The grounds and gardens are beautiful at this time of the year (spring) and the grounds staff keep it looking stunning.
Lovely, varied walks on this stunning park. Maintained by enthusiastic staff plus volunteers. They do a grand job. It's a pity the old bandstand is in bad repair and no longer in use. It must have been magnificent in its heyday. A wonderful fairytale playground, structures made from wood, is a delight for infants. Tennis courts behind serve older enthusiasts. A 'secret', sunken memorial garden with two benches gives the opportunity to sit and reflect. An extensive field is an open playground for all, dogs alike. My Nell demands to be brought here on an almost daily basis. Unfortunately she isn't allowed into the museum in the hall. Another pleasure still awaits me.
Visited Parc Howard yesterday for a walk. What a fantastic park it is with lots of different areas. Tennis courts, bowls greens, children's areas plus a lido and many trees, well kept flower borders and hidden areas. Wish the bandstand was being renovated though.
