STAY CLEAR.! Had a bus booked for my holiday company decided to cancel 12 days before can only offer an apology that's not good enough to my kids and the other 2 families, far too short notice to find anyone else.!!!

Appalling service in the evening from RIE to St John's - used it regularly till I retired then again recently. It has got even worse! We were told the plan was to have a bus at St John's which, if the incoming bus was very late would provide the return service to RIE. Patients miss appointments, visitors & staff have to wait over an hour in the evening. Not what you are being subsidised to provide. Get it fixed or let Lothian Country run it!

I booked a small bus, 33 seater, for Sunday 1st September to take a group of walkers to Perthshire and collect them later on in the day. A smaller coach because the road to our drop off point was very narrow and had a few tight turns. The lady in the office, Shona, was very professional at the time of booking and again when she rang the week before to check all the details. Great. Imagine my surprise when a full size bus, all 50 odd seats ,drove into the car park to collect us. First thoughts were, would this bus even manage to get along to our drop off point and secondly why is it here and not the smaller one. The driver, whose name I didn't but should have noted, was lovely. He knew the booking was for a 33 seater but someone in their wisdom had changed the bus to a larger one. He thought we asked for a bigger bus as we had more people. Wrong but not his fault. Give him his due he said he would get us to where we wanted to go. Fingers crossed. Off we set and with some very skilful driving as the road got narrower he did indeed manage to manoeuvre this great big tank of a thing to our drop point, a dead end farm road. I cannot praise the driver enough for his professionalism, helpfulness and patience all day and would most certainly use Horsburgh buses again. One thing though if I book a smaller bus there is a very good reason for doing so. If that coach had not managed to get down the road we would have had a 2.5 mls hike to the start which would have meant missing out the last section of our walk. Lucky us for having a good driver.
