Truly beautiful. We bought last minute standing tickets, which actually afforded us a fairly decent view from the side of the stalls. The Nutcracker was, as always, a magical production. The theatre is really lovely inside, I highly recommend either seeing a show or going in to have a look around because from the outside its Soviet starkness is a bit dissuading. I also heard the building housed the source of gas distribution for all the street lights way back when...how interesting!
Opera with subtitles in English and Lithuanian. Pricing of the tickets are good. Quality of performance, stage design and choreography is great. Applause afterwards is probably typically Lithuanian: held back. Acoustic though didn't seem right. Not all sound translates well to the audience or even at a respectable sound level. Seating was ok. A bit too low as in all older opera's. Long queues for the ladies toilet (singular I think).
It was a wonderful experience,It is very well organized and well maintained. We whent to see the Opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini.
Great acoustics, pretty comfortable seats. The best I must say is the hot chocolate is the bars.
Gorgeous place with the best warm choklad ever and outstanding performance. Highly recommend.
