Its not the price of things you may purchase and if lucky you may find a bargain that is if no one else kown its worth. The thing is the buyers premium is extortion 18% plus Vat on top the buyers premium. Then if the item has Vat on it * thats around 138 for a 100 bid. Compare this to the buyers premium at the likes of York Auction & Thirsk where it is around 5% for buyers it is really shocking as the seller has to pay to sell their item also. Plus you have to test anything electrical or it will probably not work as the tested label is only there to say you will not get a shock if plugged in. One last thing the auctioneers treat you like children even if you whisper to a friend they treat you like a school child. But thats my opinion and if you are going for the bigger items go late as they sell all the little things first. Another grievance is they will put something decent in with a box of c--p just to sell it off. The best auction from this place are when they are selling off whole businesses or workshops etc. The rest especially tools you are taking a chance if it is petrol or electric so test it first which means you have to go early or they will not allow it. Better auctions out there as I mentioned above...! One more thing is they are an auction house and if they do not get what they want in the price, even if it has no reserve they will not sell it. Like cars they thing they should be getting auto trader prices for them and you cannot even test them or inspect them...?
